An interagency meeting for the community-based study on Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and how it can be used as adjunct meal supplement was led by the Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST – FNRI) along with partners from the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), DOST-CALABARZON, and the DOST – Philippine Council for Health Research Development (DOST – PCHRD). This meeting was held on April 28, 2020 at Santa Rosa, Laguna.


The Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Research Institute steps up response to current COVID-19 pandemic as it links with other government agencies in evaluating the beneficial effects of the virgin coconut oil (VCO) among suspect and probable cases of COVID-19.

The Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) and DOST Regional Office II through OneSTore.ph recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the marketing of FNRI publications through the Department’s online outlet for assisted technologies and its own products. These publications feature the latest research and development (R&D) outputs in food and nutrition.
