The launch of the Enhanced Nutribun Production Facility at Four K Kakao Farm, Brgy. Villa Principe, Gumaca Quezon was led by Hon. Angelita “Helen” D. L. Tan on July 17, 2021.
The event was attended by DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña as the guest of honor. He emphasized in his message the DOST’s slogan, “Science for the People”. Cabinet Secretary Hon. Karlo Alexei Nograles also delivered his virtual message of support wherein he congratulated Congresswoman Tan and team for establishing the Enhanced Nutribun Production Facility in Gumaca. He said that “The Enhanced Nutribun is an example of sciencedriven solutions adopted by the government in order to address health issues like malnutrition.”
Present at the launch were Ms. Emelita P. Bagsit, OIC, Office of the Regional Director, DOSTCALABARZON, and Dr. Imelda Angeles-Agdeppa, Director IV and Scientist II, DOST-FNRI, who delivered their messages of support. Hon. Erwin P. Caralian, Vice Mayor of Gumaca, Quezon delivered the welcome message. Ms. Janine Maris D. Pabillar, Farm Administrator, Four K Kakao Farm, thanked everyone who graced the event in her closing message.
Dr. Mario V. Capanzana, former Director of DOST-FNRI, officials from LGU-Gumaca, Barangay Councils, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, staff from the Rural Health Unit, and members of the livelihood center of Four K Kakao Farm witnessed the launch.
The Pan de HELEN was launched through the distribution of Enhanced Nutribun at the Four K Kakao Farm. The initiative is in support to the government’s effort to end hunger and poverty by providing livelihood and nourishment to the people.
