The Department of Science and Technology’s– Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) conducted a virtual business forum for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) of Region VI on January 27, 2021. This aims to promote DOST-FNRI technology transfer services in Western Visayas.

The DOST-Food and Nutrition Research Institute’s Institutional Ethics Review Committee, or FIERC, was awarded Level 2 Accreditation by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB). The online awarding was held on July 30, 2020. The accreditation is effective July 2, 2020 until July 1, 2021.

More families need more food even before pandemic.

The percentage of food insecure households increased significantly from 53.9% in 2018 to 64.1% in 2019, according to the 2019 Expanded National Nutrition Survey (ENNS) of the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).
