The handbook folate content of foods consumed by Filipinos is a compilation of food folate values from six Food Composition Tables (FCTs) of several countries (Philippines, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, and United States of America). In additio, said folate values were also culled from food data of some Philippine food manufacturing firms. The handbook will help nutritionists and dietitians estimate and evaluate the adequacy of folate intakes of the population. It will also guide other allied health researchers in conducting studies regarding diet-health-disease relationships especially among population groups at-risk of having folate deficiency.
