The Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) and DOST Regional Office II through OneSTore.ph recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the marketing of FNRI publications through the Department’s online outlet for assisted technologies and its own products. These publications feature the latest research and development (R&D) outputs in food and nutrition.

The OneSTore.ph is an e-commerce web application developed and maintained by DOST Regional Office II. It operates nationwide and caters primarily to Filipino consumers.

Dr. Mario V. Capanzana, DOST-FNRI Director, in his message, shared that the Institute’s motto for this year “2020: Perfect Vision for Nutrition”. He stated that the partnership with OneSTore.ph is a strategic move by the Institute in making its publications available to more clients especially those outside Metro Manila.

Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, DOST II Regional Director, mentioned that Dr. Capanzana is his mentor in terms of technology transfer activities like conducting Technology Needs Assessment (TNA). He also said that the DOST Regional Offices call Dr. Capanzana as “Father of Modern TNA”.

He added that he is delighted that there will be an engagement with DOSTFNRI. He also shared the challenges faced by OneSTore.ph during its early years. Engr. Mabborang also said that OneSTore.ph is the official e-commerce portal of the government. He ended his message by thanking the Institute for the partnership with OneSTore.ph and assured a bright future for the project.

Also present during the MOA signing as witnesses were selected staff from DOST II and DOST-FNRI.
