The Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology hosted successful back-to-back workshops in Manila on June 8-10, 2016 and in Tagaytay City on June 15-16, 2016. The two workshops are part of the Philippine commitment to support the Asia Paciﬁc Economic Cooperation’s (APEC) initiatives toward innovation driven development to promote regional science and technology collaboration. Cross-fora cooperation and coordination for Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) is likewise given importance.

The memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing was held on May 25, 2016 at the FNRI Executive Conference Room.

On April 27, 2016 the 1st DOST Technology Transfer Day was held at the Soﬁtel Philippine Plaza Manila, CCP Complex, Pasay City. The whole day event brought together the diﬀerent stakeholders in research and development that led to the forging of partnerships between industry players and the technology generators.

The FNRI-DOST launched the Pinggang Pinoy for the diﬀerent population groups during the 61st Annual Convention of the Nutritionist-Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines (NDAP). The launching was held on February 24, 2016 during the NDAP fellowship night at the Royal Garden Hall and Convention Center, General Luna Street, Iloilo City.
