The Accounting Section of the FNRI-DOST bagged the most coveted award as one of the most outstanding accounting offices in the country for three consecutive years. This places the Institute in the roster of Hall of Famers.
The prestigious award was given to FNRI by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines Inc. (AGAP), through the recommendation of the Commission on Audit (COA).
COA chooses government agencies based on the quality, timeliness and accuracy of financial year reports.
An auditor gives an unqualified opinion when a financial report presents a true and fair view of an office's financial condition, position and operations.
Aside from the FNRI-DOST, two other government agencies received the Hall of Fame Award as Most Outstanding Accounting Offices. These included the Presidential Management Staff and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

The FNRI-DOST and other agencies received their awards on October 21, 2014, during the opening ceremonies of the AGAP convention-seminar in CAP-John Hay Convention Center in Baguio City.
